Following the success of the Chainsaw Man movie, the production team behind the TV anime announced on Sunday that the anime adaptation of the Assassins Arc is in development. This arc serves as a direct sequel to the movie and covers chapters 53 through 70 of the manga.
No additional information has been given on release date or format, but fans speculate it could be another movie based on the arc only containing 18 chapters. MAPPA released a promotional video and visual alongside the announcement.
The first season aired during Fall 2022 and received an 8.43 score on My Anime List. The movie was released in Fall 2025 and grossed nearly $180 million.
