Under the Oak Tree: Volume 2 (The Novel) Available Now

Under the Oak Tree

The second installment of the novel series of Manta’s #1 webcomic, Under the Oak Tree: Volume 2 (The Novel) is now available. Fans and readers can purchase the highly anticipated second volume in the print novel adaptation of creator Suji Kim’s internationally beloved romantasy series at all major book retail chains and online.

Under the Oak Tree

As fans enjoy this beautifully crafted print edition, they can continue following the popular story directly on Manta. Season 5 of the Under the Oak Tree webcomic is currently ongoing and available exclusively on Manta, the official home for the series and the only platform where readers can experience new episodes as they release each week.

Following the success of Under the Oak Tree: Volume 1 (The Novel) — a New York Times and USA Today bestseller upon its Fall 2024 debut — this new hardcover edition adapts chapters 77–133 of the original webnovel and brings readers deeper into the emotional, magical, and politically charged world of Lady Maximilian and Sir Riftan. The gorgeous first-edition hardcover is designed with collectors in mind, featuring sprayed edges, full-color patterned endpapers, foil stamping on the cover, and a ribbon bookmark, elevating the reading experience for longtime fans and newcomers alike.

In Volume 2, as Maxi’s first winter in Anatol turns to spring, she faces an unfamiliar and fragile feeling: hope. Her voice and burgeoning magic grow stronger each day; Calypse Castle stands nearly restored with only the gardens left to fill with blooms; and the distant, battle-scarred Riftan is beginning to look at her in ways that make her wonder if she might finally be worthy of love and affection. But Maxi’s life is never simple. When Princess Agnes, the renowned sorceress who might have become Riftan’s wife had he pursued a divorce after the Dragon Campaign, arrives unexpectedly, she brings complicated emotions and courtly politics that threaten Maxi’s newfound confidence and the delicate shift in her marriage.

Manta remains a leading destination for digital webcomics and the exclusive home of Under the Oak Tree, its #1 title, which has amassed a global community of devoted readers. This partnership with Inklore Books, an imprint of Penguin Random House, is part of Manta’s ongoing mission of bringing outstanding global storytelling, from webnovels to webcomics and beyond, to fans and readers worldwide.
