There are a lot of remakes and remasters out there right now, and more are on the way. We honestly can’t say for certain the quality of what’s coming until they arrive; however, ever since Final Fantasy VII Remake came out, you could argue that Square Enix has been crushing it with its remakes. Right, Dragon Quest fans? Anyway, the remake with Cloud Strife was broken into three parts so that each game could further flesh out the iconic lore, characters, and settings of the original PlayStation classic. First came the remake, and then came Rebirth, which means there’s one title left to go…
In a special interview, Final Fantasy VII Remake director Naoki Hamaguchi stated that he and Tetsuya Nomura have narrowed things down to the “final two” possible names for the final game, and that they both hope to finalize it before the year ends.
That opens up some potential on when it might be unveiled, including at The Game Awards this week, should he be feeling “in the mood” for it.
If we were to guess what the name might be, “Revelations” feels like an apt title, as the game has to connect the old and new stories together to at least attempt to make things coherent.
Also, don’t forget that in January, FFVII Remake will arrive on the Nintendo Switch 2.
