Fatal Fury: City Of The Wolves Commemorates Chun-Li with Anime, Character Guide Incoming

By Kevin KellyNovember 2, 2025
Chun-li Vs Chun-Li in Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves. Wait, what?!

Chun-Li and Mai go at it in the anime crtated by legend Masami Obari for Chun-Li’s Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves arrival for the Atlanta Dreamhack / SNK Championships reveal.

The two iconic female fighters square off, bringing the cool flow and heat along with them. There are nods to their Capcom vs SNK intro such as Mai Shiranui mimicking Chun-Li’s attire. If you couldn’t tell who is who at first glance was – we don’t blame you. The backdrop may also look similar to a certain Third Strike background that is used during Sean’s bonus game. SNK nods strike again.

This fight might be the next special intro for City of the Wolves. Ken and Terry’s fight was also here. This isn’t Obarisan’s first rodeo with Chun-Li. The animator has worked on the Street Fighter Alpha anime, too.

Chun-Li Character Guide

Surprisingly, Chun-Li’s Official City of the Wolves Character Guide has also appeared. It goes through all of Chun-Li’s kit within the realm of the game with a few changes to how things worked. Serenity seems to be the gaping hole in her kit that I couldn’t see in any of her combos.

Other content creators were able to get hands-on with Chun-Li. Desk didn’t mess around, for instance. The content creator getting a whopping 71 hit combo with the new character through his lab time with the new character is nuts. 80%-90% damage right there for a full resources attempt. Right after her Burnout hits, Chun is still doing the rounds.

Rooflemonger has also taken Chun-Li on with his insights to showing how the Interpol agent can do her thing from Revs to Redline Gear Supers and how they can spell trouble for opponents.

Chun-Li is possibly coming next month. Chun-Li joins Andy, Joe, Ken, and Mr. Big, to round off the first Season of the Free DLC pack included in City of the Wolves.

Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves is currently available for the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam).
