Bandai Namco brought Tekken 3 back from the woodwork. The high-grossing PS1 Classic returns on the PlayStation Plus Classic library with everything in place from its’ original run. Released in 1998 to console ports, this title does the follow-up justice from the masterful Tekken 2 before it.
Tekken 3 attempted to experiment with additional modes such as the Beat-Em-Up minigame, Tekken Force, and Tekken Ball mode. The most notable addition was the of course the side-step mechanic and limits to jumping for a more realistic feel during fights. Graphical improvements were also there in Tekken 3.
This fight never ends—👊
Starting today, October 21, “Tekken 3” will be available in the PlayStation Plus Classics catalog, compatible with PS4 and PS5!

While Kazuya Mishima steps away by force, Heihachi continues the King of The Iron Fist tournament festivities as an sinister being seems to be tied to the disappearance of many fighters across the globe. Throughout the chaos, a young fighter seeks guidance on the beheadst of his mother’s wish with revenge on his thoughts.
This was also the first appearance of Xiaoyu, Eddy Gordo, Hwoarang, Julia Chang, Bryan Fury, King II, and of course, the new Mishima poster boy of the franchise, Jin Kazama. Tekken 3 was the source inspiration of the Netflix anime – Tekken Bloodline in 2022.
Unfortunately, there is no online play for this one. Custom video filters, rewind, and quick save are all here as additional features. It’s also available for $9.99 USD separately on both PlayStation 4 and 5. Can we finally get Soul Edge, too?
