Persona 3 Reload Team Promises Patches To Fix Nintendo Switch 2 Framerate “Hiccups”

Better late than never.

Persona 3 Reload Beginners Guide, Nintendo Switch 2

The Nintendo Switch 2 platform already has some incredible 1st-party titles, as I’ve reviewed personally on this site. However, 3rd-party games on the platform are plentiful, too, and they’re continuing to pile in. The next big release from said parties is Persona 3 Reload, which I also reviewed on this site via the PC version, and it was a blast. For those who have wanted to enjoy it via a handheld system, the clock is about to strike twelve. However, if you played the game’s demo, you might have noticed some “hiccups” in the framerate.

In an interview with Nintendo Life, the team at P-Studio, including the port’s director, Yoshihiro Komori, noted that future patches will address all framerate woes that the game may have:

“We are currently taking steps to improve this. Since careful QA is required, it was difficult to address this in time for the main game’s release but will be in future patches.”

When asked if the team might do a “performance mode” to help the game run at 60FPS, or let the player choose what kind of performance they desire for the “best experience,” the answer was quite blunt:

“We have also been positively considering increasing the frame rate; however, for this release, we prioritized delivering the Switch 2 version to everyone as quickly as possible. As such, we regret to inform you that there are currently no plans to implement this kind of requested feature at this time.”

Even with that, Persona 3 Reload should still run well on the Nintendo Switch 2, and if you’re playing it for the first time, I recommend checking out my beginner’s guide!
