Go Bananas for Donkey Kong Bananza’s New Emerald Rush Events Starting Oct. 28

Nintendo is giving players who completed Donkey Kong Bananza another reason to jump back into the jungle, thanks to new DLC and a slate of limited-time events. Beginning October 28, players who have finished the main story can take part in monthly challenges inside the DK Island + Emerald Rush DLC, priced at $19.99 on the Nintendo eShop, to earn exclusive in-game character statues and Banandium Chips.

To participate, finish the Donkey Kong Bananza main story, purchase the DK Island + Emerald Rush paid DLC on Nintendo Switch 2, and enter DK Island during the event period to select the Emerald Rush challenge.

During each event window, a special Emerald Rush challenge shakes up the usual formula with fixed conditions. The Emerald Perks available from fossils and Banandium Gems are preset for each event. You’ll still select one perk from three choices during a run, but those options remain the same for every attempt throughout the event period.

The first event, Chip Fever, runs from Oct. 28 at 1:00 a.m. PT to Nov. 3 at 11:59 p.m. PT (4:00 a.m. ET on Oct. 28 to 2:59 a.m. ET on Nov. 4). Rewards include statues of Enguarde and Kong Bananza, plus Banandium Chips. Players can take part on DK Island within the DK Island + Emerald Rush DLC.

Hit the target scores to unlock character statues and collect Banandium Chips, which can be exchanged for standard statues. Miss the goal on a run? No problem, as you can retry as many times as you like while the event is live.

Be sure to check out The Outerhaven’s review of Donkey Kong Bananza to see why we called it one of Nintendo’s most entertaining and creative takes on the Kong legacy.
