We are literally days away from the release of Pokemon Legends Z-A on the Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, and just like so many other launches before it from The Pokemon Company…there have been leaks. Seriously, it’s like this company is cursed to have leaks no matter what they do. Just to be clear, we here at The Outerhaven won’t post any spoiler-filled leaks. That’s not how we roll. One leak that did come out that we are willing to talk about is the alleged budget for the upcoming game.
As you’ll see below in the post from Stealth, the game apparently only cost $13 million to make! Plus, apparently, the cost of making the Gen 10 titles, which will come soon enough, didn’t cost much more than that!
Leaked Pokemon budget information: Pokémon Legends Z-A: 2 billion yen (approx. $13 million) Pokemon Gen 10: 3 billion yen (approx. $20 million)For how much main Pokemon games sell on average, this is a budget designed to never have to worry about not making profit.

Why does this matter? As many have been stating, the cost of developing games has gone up dramatically. Yet, as many, including The Pokemon Company, are revealing through their own projects, it doesn’t HAVE to “break the bank” to make a good game.
To be clear, Pokemon Legends Z-A is a smaller-scale project than other titles in the line, as it’s set within a single city and not a massive world. Yet, there’s plenty going on in the city, and between that and making things like battles feel smooth and the graphics look crisp, the costs do add up.
Either way, if you don’t want to be spoiled about ANYTHING involving the upcoming title, you might want to tailor your social media feeds so nothing gets ruined.
