One of the reasons that Nintendo has lasted so long is that even when they make a “subpar system,” they make an incredible set of games that even the haters would struggle to “lessen” in some way. Then, when you get to the all-time classics, you realize that The Big N has been doing great for decades, and as the Nintendo Switch 2 will attest, it’s set for many more years of gaming greatness. Yet, it all started with the Nintendo Entertainment System, and the “Top NES Games” are something that is still talked about to this day, including by magazines like Rolling Stone.
They made a special list breaking down what they felt were the best games from the console, and it’s hard to deny some of the picks they made. Check out their Top 20 below:
1) Super Mario Bros. 3
2) Mega Man 2
3) Super Mario Bros.
4) The Legend of Zelda
5) Ninja Gaiden
6) Castlevania III

Thus, regardless of whether you don’t think these are the “Top NES Games,” you have to admit that the list does hit a lot of the highlights. If you think you know what titles deserve to be on this list that weren’t named, let us know in the comments below!
