Nintendo Switch 2 Sales Estimates Revealed During Financial Report

How much does The Big N think it'll do in the fiscal year?

Nintendo Switch 2, 5 Reasons the Nintendo Switch 2 Is Absolutely Worth It

Can you feel it? Can you? We’re getting ever closer to the release of the Nintendo Switch 2. In fact, we’re just four weeks away from the system coming out. That’s not that long when you think about how this year is truly flying by. However, the big question that everyone is asking is…how well will it sell at launch? As we’ve covered, the pre-order numbers for the system have been insane. Just in Japan, there were requests for 2.2 million units. The UK had sellouts, and the US pre-orders caused site shutdowns for a bit. Yet, the question remains, how well will it do, and…how well does Nintendo think it’ll do?

Well, now we know, and it might actually be a lower number than you think! In the latest financial report, Nintendo revealed that it thinks the Nintendo Switch 2 will sell about 15 million units by the end of the next fiscal year:

For reference, our forecast was 14.5 million units by the end of December 2025, and that was already considered conservative by most of the industry.

As you can see, one analyst thinks that this is The Big N “being conservative, and we can understand that viewpoint. They know that the situation with the Switch 2 is much different from the launch of the OG Switch via tariffs, politics, and other potential issues. It could go well over that number by the time next March comes around. It is good to see them being “fair” despite all the hype, because the last thing they want to report is them “underperforming” instead of “overperforming.”
