Final Fantasy VII Remake Gets Special Nintendo Switch 2 Video

The beginning of something more?

There are numerous third-party video games coming to the Nintendo Switch 2 either at or near launch. The lineup is honestly pretty impressive, and it highlights how many third-party developers/publishers want to be on the new Nintendo system right at launch. One such title that’s coming is Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, which is the expanded version of the 2020 hit title from Square Enix that completely remade the beloved RPG title for a new generation. Today, Nintendo dropped a special “Creator’s Voice” interview with director Naoki Hamaguchi, where he talked both about the title and how it would be on the Switch 2.

Naoki praised the Nintendo Switch 2, saying that its specs were what helped bring the title to the console. That’s a thread we’ve been hearing a lot, recently, and it’ll be curious what other “older titles” will be on the system because of that. The director further noted that he has a special connection with Nintendo platforms due to his youth, so that made him all the more ecstatic to have a game he directed on one of its systems.

What many are latching onto with this interview is that Naoki notes how he hopes this port will “build a strong relationship between Nintendo and Final Fantasy,” and that he hopes fans enjoy the “Final Fantasy VII Remake series on Nintendo Switch 2.”

That indicates that not only will Rebirth and the final entry for this saga come to the Switch 2, but that other Final Fantasy games might show up down the line!
