Stellar Blade’s Nier: Automata DLC & Photo Mode Update Launches On Nov 20th

By Keith MitchellNovember 11, 2024
Stellar Blade’s Nier Automata DLC

Back in September 2024, SHIFT UP, the developer of Stellar Blade, surprised everyone by announcing a crossover with Square Enix’s Nier: Automata. Interestingly, Nier: Automata was a major inspiration for Stellar Blade‘s creation and development. For those eager to experience this collaboration, it’s happening soon—on November 20, 2024.

The crossover will feature Emil, the eccentric vendor (and boss) from Nier: Automata, who will make an appearance in Stellar Blade, offering access to several special collaboration items, including outfits. From what we can see, 2B’s, A2’s and Kaine’s outfits look like they were pulled from Nier: Automata will be some of the more sought-after outfits. This update even includes the special outfit of Kaine from Nier: Replicant that was added as DLC in Nier: Automata.

That’s not all; this update also introduces the long-awaited Photo Mode, which, in my opinion, should have been available from day one. This new mode will let players capture their best shots or silliest moments with various filters and other enhancements.

Finally, lip-sync support is being added for French, Spanish, Italian, German, Portuguese, and Latin American Spanish, making the game more immersive for players in these languages.

Stellar Blade is available exclusively on PlayStation 5 and remains one of the best reasons to own the console, especially if you’re a fan of action and hack-and-slash games. With its engaging combat, stunning visuals, and overall thrilling experience, Stellar Blade delivers a memorable gameplay experience. In our review, we praised SHIFT UP for their impressive debut console title.
