TGS 2024: What Does Soccer Star Cristiano Ronaldo Have To Do With Fatal Fury City of the Wolves

By Kevin KellySeptember 24, 2024
Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves Cristiano Ronaldo Collaboration

SNK and Soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo have released a teaser for the Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves during the Tokyo Game Show 2024 timeframe. As to what to expect from this collaboration remains a mystery. Why is Ronaldo involved with a fighting game franchise on the brink of a comeback? Ronaldo tweeted this yesterday with the hashtags and a teaser video with the Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves logo.

The video has a soccer stadium and a locker room with a set of lockers donning the Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves logo. The locker starts to get damaged from the inside. As to what will burst out of it, only SNK and Cristiano Ronaldo knows at this point.

According to stats and the like, the LATAM community has a passion for SNK titles such as King of Fighters and has shown much appreciation for SNK’s titles. Ronaldo could be probably involved the same way as Capcom did with the community commentary feature for Street Fighter VI, but maybe a color commentary position for the soccer superstar.

There could be other more plausible theories. Maybe Marco Rodriguez is a fan and Ronaldo will appear in Marco’s ending or someone else’s? It can’t be Terry since he’s just about Basketball. This is probably one of the biggest things SNK has done promotion wise for the brand overseas. No, Chicken of the Sea billboards in Real Bout Fatal Fury 2 doesn’t count as a reversal one.

With the release date in April 2025, and no new recent characters being revealed since Mai Shiranui came back at Gamescom last month, further details may be coming soon. From what everyone has played, in the community, City of The Wolves has been garnering a positive reaction with its’ betas within various tournament scenes throughout the year.

Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves will be released for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
