Concord’s Sales Disappoint with Only 25,000 Copies Sold

Concord's Sales Disappoint with Only 25,000 Copies Sold

Sony‘s new hero shooter, Concord, has severely underperformed in its launch, selling an estimated 25,000 copies across PlayStation 5 and PC. According to industry analyst Simon Carless (thanks IGN), the game has moved around 15,000 units on PlayStation and just 10,000 on Steam.

The game’s struggle is evident in its performance on both platforms. On the PlayStation 5, Concord ranked 147th in daily active players in the U.S., accounting for only 0.2% of the console’s player base just three days after release, as reported by analyst Mat Piscatella.

Analysts suggest several reasons for Concord’s failure. Rhys Elliott from Midia Research points to “poor marketing, a high price point, and a lack of differentiation in an oversaturated genre.” Elliott further argued that “launching Concord as a premium game limited its audience numbers and user acquisition.”

Other industry experts believe that making the game free-to-play or including it in the PlayStation Plus subscription could have helped. They emphasize that first impressions are crucial, and Concord’s initial performance may have already sealed its fate.

Concord is available now on PS5 and PC.
