By Josh PiedraJuly 18, 2024

GKIDS, the Academy Award®-winning producer and distributor of artist-driven and award-winning animation, has revealed the full product lineup and release dates for the home entertainment release of ARCANE, from Riot Games. The globally loved animated series will be issued in a definitive, limited-run Collector’s Edition, 4K UHDTM and Standard Edition SteelBookTM Editions, a Blu-RayTM Standard Edition, and on Digital Download-to-Own. All editions are currently available on preorder.

Arcane

The Limited-Run Collector’s Edition is presented in a rigid clamshell box featuring original artwork, and contains all nine episodes presented in glorious 4K resolution and mastered in Dolby Vision HDR. The edition also contains all episodes on standard Blu-RayTM discs. In addition to the full series, the set includes brand new merchandise items exclusive to the Collector’s Edition – including a double-sided poster featuring artwork from Piltover’s “Progress Day” with one side defaced by Jinx, six art cards with Powder’s illustrations, Caitlyn Kiramann’s map of Piltover, and an expansive dice set containing a Hexcore inspired d20 die, seven liquid core resin dice inspired by Hex crystals, a protective pouch and decorative dice box. Limited to 6500 copies for North America, the Limited-Run Collector’s Edition will be released October 22, 2024,* and is available exclusively through the GKIDS and Riot Games’ stores.

The 4K UHD SteelBookTM features a stunning Jinx-themed outer package, and contains the full nine-episode series presented across three 4K UHD discs, and an additional Blu-rayTM disc containing over three hours of bonus features. The Standard SteelBookTM edition is presented in a Vi-themed outer package, and contains the same nine-episode series and the same accompanying bonus features across three discs. The Standard Blu-rayTM edition presents the series and bonus features across three Blu-rayTM discs. Both versions of the SteelBookTM edition and the Standard Blu-rayTM edition will be released October 8, 2024, with North American distribution from Shout! Studios. Bonus features on all physical editions include exclusive conversations with key creative talent and writers, numerous scene breakdowns from the animation staff at studio Fortiche, making-of videos, and more.

The series will be available for North America starting September 24, 2024 on digital download-to-own platforms, including Apple TV, Amazon Prime Video, and YouTube Movies, Google Play and more.

All editions are available for preorder now. A full breakdown of the different product editions can be found on www.GKIDS.com/Arcane. Shout! Studios will handle North American distribution alongside GKIDS, and the release on digital download-to-own platforms in Latin America. For fans outside of North America, ARCANE will be released on home entertainment by Anime Ltd. & Plaion Pictures for Europe, Plain Archive for South Korea, and Sugoi Co for Australia & New Zealand.

ARCANE is set in the universe of the massively popular video game League of Legends, made by Riot Games and Fortiche Productions for Netflix. The series is co-created by Christian Linke and Alex Yee, and follows the origins of iconic League champions Vi and Jinx, as they become caught in the power struggle between the utopian city of Piltover and the oppressed underground city of Zaun.

The series debuted in November 2021 to rave reviews, garnering widespread praise for its striking animation, emotionally complicated characters, thrilling music, and overall production quality. It has been praised by critics as one of the best video game adaptations ever created. The series went on to win four primetime Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Animated Program, as well as nine Annie Awards, including Best Mature Animated Television Broadcast Production. It was recently announced that Arcane Season Two, the final chapter of Arcane, will premiere in November 2024.
