Will The Next Nintendo Direct Be “Peak”?

By Todd BlackJune 9, 2024
Nintendo Switch Nintendo Direct Mini

As a host on the Nintendo Entertainment Podcast, I know all about how things like a Nintendo Direct can get hyped up to insane levels, only for them to be a bit of a letdown once they arrive. That’s not to say that all the games that are shown are bad, but sometimes Nintendo doesn’t always put its best foot forward. When they dropped a Partner’s Showcase back in February, fans were…unamused. Since then, outside of a recently released epic remaster, the 2024 Switch lineup has been…light.

The good news is that if leaker Midori is to be believed, that might not last much longer. In a response about the recent Xbox Showcase, Midori called that the next Nintendo Direct “will be peak.”

According to Midori, the upcoming Nintendo Direct this month is going to be “Peak”

She seems to know about all things Japanese Video Games, so that is very encouraging. https://t.co/4Ui4lBBdLn pic.twitter.com/tROuMGsaMj

So, what do they know that we don’t? Will we get new looks into Metroid Prime 4 and Pokemon Legends: Z-A? Will we get a new Kid Icarus game (or remaster of the 3DS title?) Could Mario or Legend of Zelda make an appearance? Maybe a big 3rd-party surprise or two? We’ll have to wait for the Direct itself to find out!
