Guilty Gear -Strive- Baiken Debut Trailer and Moveset Breakdown Videos

Guilty Gear Strive Baiken_header

Back in December 2021, we reported that Baiken was set to make her debut in Guilty Gear -Strive-, she’s almost here.

As part of Guilty Gear -Strive- season pass one, Baiken will be playable as of January 28th, 2022. If you don’t have the season pass, Baiken will be available as a standalone purchase on January 31, 2022. To celebrate her return, Arc System Works has released not one, but two videos.

The first video is a showcase trailer, showing off just how utterly fantastic Baiken looks. I’m sure Baiken mains will be happy to see that Arc Sys has done her justice. The second video is a starter guide that breaks down Baiken’s moveset. If you’ve played with Baiken in the past, be sure to watch the second video as there have been several changes to the character.

Fans of her guard cancel and air parry, get ready to be upset — they’re gone. On the upside of things, Baiken is rated as an easy character to get started with. I’d imagine we’ll see a lot of Baiken players, for one reason or another, soon. And yes, she is a bit heavy in the chest area. Doesn’t that make it a bit hard with? Sadly, I’m not a fan of Baiken’s new theme. Momentary Life from the previous Guilty Games is still superior, IMHO.

A new stage called “Lap of the Kami” will also be released alongside Baiken.

The addition of Baiken brings the number of characters introduced to GGST via the season pass to four. This includes previously released characters Goldlewis, Jack-O, and Happy Chaos. There’s still one more character that hasn’t been teased as of yet, but we expect to see whoever it is around Spring/Summer 2022.
