Dying Light 2 Can Be Completed In About 20 Hours

By Keith MitchellJanuary 10, 2022
Dying Light 2 Stay Human

A few days ago, there was a concern that Techland’s Dying Light 2 Stay Human would take up to 500 hours to complete. Of course, that didn’t sit well with the internet for various reasons. Thankfully, Techland reached out to us and spread some light on the topic. It wants everyone to know that it won’t take 500-hours to finish the game. We can all relax now, and resume our plans to play the game.

No, it won’t take 500-hours to complete

According to Techland, most who play the game should be able to finish Dying Light 2 in about 20 hours. Of course, this will depend on how focused you are and if you aren’t constantly dying or stopping to take it all in.

Now, if you’re one of those who like to do everything there is to do; main and side quests, and making it a point to speak to all the NPCs, it will take longer. That number is about 80-hours or so, which still isn’t 500-hours.

Dying Light 2 - How long to complete

So, where is the 500-hours coming from? Techland states that according to its internal testing, it takes about 500-hours if you want to experience everything there is to Dying Light 2. This means all the quests, engaging with all the NPCs, finding every collectible, listening to all the dialogues, and visiting every corner of the world. The world is vast, there’s a lot out there, and the game was made this way due to fans of the original game still diving back into it. Techland wants to be sure to give back to those loyal fans, and thus why Dying Light 2 is going to provide those fans with a tremendous experience when they get their hands on the game.

So, there you have it. It won’t take most of us 500-hours, but if you don’t mind spending time in the Dying Light 2 world. Then there will be plenty there to keep you busy, and I’m okay with that. However, I fully intend to explore and spend as much time as I can in Dying Light 2’s open world.

Dying Light 2 releases on February 4th, 2022, for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
