Stuff I want to see from The Game Awards 2021

By Keith MitchellDecember 9, 2021

I like to play games, and when I get to either read, see or hear about something exciting in the gaming industry, I love it. Now that we’re in the dawn of The Game Awards 2021 show, which will be taking place tonight, December 9, 2021. There are so many things I want to see come out of the show. Some are shoe-ins and were already announced (or teased). While others are pipe dreams that will never see the light of day. Still, that’s the great thing about gaming shows; you can hope and pray, and if you do it enough, then maybe you’ll be will something into existence.

Below, you’ll see just a few things that I would love to see from tonight’s The Game Award Show.  While these are my “wants,” please feel free to leave some of your wants in the comments.

Alright, on to a few of my dreams.

Bloodborne PC

Yeah, I’m never going to let this one die, despite there being no official talks about it. However, given that Sony/PlayStation has been released several PS4 games onto the PC, with two more on the horizon (pun intended). That is enough to give me hope. Besides, if Jim Ryan wants to help SIE make even more money, this title is a sure-fire way to make that happen. I mean, they did just pick up Nixxes, and I can’t imagine that they’re doing anything right now.

Fingers crossed!

Sonic Frontiers (or whatever it’s called)

I suppose that since I wrote this piece week or so ago, we now know that we’re going to see the new Sonic game during the event. I guess that means I’m clairvoyant or something. Either way, I’m looking forward to seeing yet another Sonic the Hedgehog game. Here’s to hoping this one isn’t stuck in the Sonic cycle and ultimately ends up being good.

Mortal Kombat 12

Ever since Netherrealm announced they had stopped supporting Mortal Kombat 11 and mentioned they were focused on its next project, visions of MK12 were in my mind. With MK11 out of the picture, it would make sense that Netherrealm would move on to Mortal Kombat 12. Not only that, they’re fans of the Unreal Engine, and now Unreal Engine 5 went official towards the middle of the year. There’s no doubt that the next Mortal Kombat game will be on that game engine. I’m more than sure this is going to happen.

Street Fighter VI

Street Fighter World Warrior

Speaking of fighting games, I think it’s time that Capcom finally stops milking Street Fighter V and finally announces Street Fighter VI. Yes, I know Luke is the future or something to that extend. But as someone who’s either played every game in the series and has followed this wreck of a timeline. Can we finally see if Ken and Ryu are going to hand up thier gi’s, once and for all? Oh, and this time this better not be a damned console-exclusive. That garbage needs to stop.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League

Well, crap. This game was also recently teased to being at The Game Awards 2021. Oh well, I still want to see it. Mainly because I’m tired of hearing about the game and I want to know more about it. How about some actual gameplay this time around while we’re at it.

Bayonetta 3

Here’s another title that has my attention but seems to be in development hell. Despite Platinum Games’ saying the game is coming along, they’ve been saying that for a while now. Let’s see some more gameplay. Let’s get some hype! Let’s maybe get a release date while we’re at it?

Beyond Good and Evil 2

I’m sure Beyond Good and Evil 2 is a game that’s on everyone’s minds. The first game was such a banger, and we’ve been waiting on the follow-up for years. Yet, this is another game where we have zero ideas about what’s going on. It’s still slated for a 2022 release date and is only for next-gen platforms. Oh, and this live stream that Ubisoft hosted, and that’s it. It would be nice to see this game make an appearance or hear something about it.

A New F-Zero

I know, I know. I keep saying that I’m done with hoping that Nintendo would give us a new F-Zero game. I lied. What can I say? I love the F-Zero series, and I’ve been hoping for a new entry for a while now. Sadly, Nintendo has been keen to keep the Super Mario Kart series as its only racing game. They seem to have forgotten that it was F-Zero was Sci-Fi racing game that everyone loved, and I couldn’t get enough of it. I know this is a pipe dream, but I still believe it will happen. Should it happen, I can’t see Nintendo passing up a chance on revealing it during The Game Awards show.

The Game Awards 2021 show takes place on December 9, 2021, at 4:30 PM PT / 7:30p ET / 12:30a GMT.
