Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City Trailer is unleashed

By Karl SmartOctober 7, 2021

It looks like the Resident Evil franchise has been getting a lot of love and new projects since the success of Resident Evil: Village. First, it was a successful integration into Dead By Daylight via DLC, then it was the Netflix animated series Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness, but now we get to see the trailer for the next project: Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City, a movie remake of the Resident Evil series. We shall also be getting Resident Evil: Wesker Kids Netflix live-action show and a version of Resident Evil 4 on VR (and a remaster/remake no one asked for). But for those of you interested in the reboot Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City, you can watch the trailer below.

Accounting to the release notes from Sony Pictures Releasing, the plot of Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City is as follows:

Once the booming home of pharmaceutical giant Umbrella Corporation, Raccoon City is now a dying Midwestern town. The company’s exodus left the city a wasteland… with great evil brewing below the surface. When that evil is unleashed, the townspeople are forever… changed… and a small group of survivors must work together to uncover the truth behind Umbrella and make it through the night.

Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City stars Kaya Scodelario as Claire Redfield, Robbie Amell as Chris Redfield, Hannah John-Kamen as Jill Valentine, Tom Hopper as Albert Wesker, Avan Jogia as Leon S. Kennedy, Donal Logue as Chief Brian Irons, Neal McDonough as William Birkin, Lily Gao as Ada Wong, Chad Rook as Richard Aiken,  and Marina Mazepa as Lisa Trevor.

It looks like Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City is taking a few of the Resident Evil games and layering their stories on top of each other, with locations, characters, and references from Resident Evil (Both original and Remake versions), Resident Evil 2, and Resident Evil: Code Veronica appearing in the trailer.

Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City is scheduled to be released in the United States on November 24, 2021, by Sony Pictures Releasing.
