Resident Evil Village DLC Is Currently In Development

If you were expecting to see or hear some news on new content for Capcom’s smash hit, Resident Evil Village, sadly there doesn’t appear to be any. During the Capcom E3 2021 live stream, the company announced that they had only just started working on additional DLC for the title. And while Capcom didn’t come out and say it, whatever this DLC is, it’s likely story-based content.

Capcom Resident Evil Village DLC development

It’s kind of wild to hear that, especially when it comes to Capcom. In retrospect, when Resident Evil 7 was in development, we had already known about the upcoming DLC for the game. Not so much for Resident Evil Village.

That said, I’m glad that Capcom didn’t plan on working on Resident Evil Village DLC until after the game was finished. However, after having beaten the game multiple times, we’re a bit hard up for some new story-based content. I’m sure everyone else who’s played through the game is likely in the same position. Then there’s the chance that Capcom could be lying as they’re just not ready to show off anything. I’m not saying they could, but they could be.

Or course, if you really want some more Resident Evil content, there’s always Resident Evil Re:Verse.

Resident Evil Village is available for the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
