Halo Infinite launching this holiday, first look at free-to-play multiplayer revealed

By Poch SaldanaJune 13, 2021
Halo Infinite Multiplayer

Halo Infinite garnered some lukewarm reactions during its initial gameplay reveal and the folks at 343 Industries took that feedback to heart delaying the supposed Xbox Series launch title indefinitely. While Xbox is still a little hush-hush with exact dates, and even the single-player campaign with only a short overhead shot and a brief cutscene being shown at today’s Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase, we now have a release window of holiday 2021.

We did, however, get the first glimpse of Halo Infinitie’s frantic free-to-play multiplayer mode which will launch day and date with the game’s campaign. Showcasing beloved fan-favorite modes and weapons like capture the flag and the all-mighty gravity hammer, Halo‘s multiplayer looks to be as fun as ever. Though the main focus was on the malleable utility of the brand new grappling hook. The new tool allows players to hijack vehicles, zip through the air, and even grab weapons from afar.

The official Halo YouTube channel will also be hosting a livestream on June 14 8:00 AM PST going into more detail about Halo Infinite‘s multiplayer so expect to see even more details tomorrow.

Halo Infinite is coming to Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC this holiday with development headed by 343 Industries and publishing by Xbox Game Studios.

Big fan of games, writing, and writing about games! Two things Poch will always stand by--the Vita was ahead of its time and the world is a better place with a new Rhythm Heaven on the horizon.
