Update 2: Looks like issues have been resolved and Xbox Insider App is taking signups again.

Update: Xbox has announced they will expand the number of available registration slots due to the issues with signing up for the Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis beta.

We are working closely with the @xboxinsider Hub team to get the #PSO2NGS Global Closed Beta Test registration back online as soon as possible. To ensure that every player is able to sign up, we will be expanding the registrant slots for the beta testing period!

They are still working on making sure the Xbox Insider App is playing nice – it isn’t been so far.

Original story below.

Today’s the day to sign up for the Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis beta, except no one can, currently. When you attempt to launch the Xbox Insider App for Windows 10, the application fails and tells you to try again. It looks like the servers have been flooded, with everyone trying to get access to the beta. Microsoft is aware of this and is working on the issue.

Attention, Arks! There is currently an outage affecting the Xbox Insider Hub preventing players from signing up for the #PSO2NGS Global Closed Beta Test. We are working hard to bring you further updates as soon as possible, thank you for your patience and support!

However, with this being the case and the signups being a first-come, first-server ordeal, this may prevent a number of players from being able to sign up when the app is accessible.

We’ll stay on top of this dilemma and will update you all once the Xbox Insider App is back. Hopefully, by then everyone will still have a chance to sign up for Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis.

The Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis beta  is for Windows 10 only, and will take place during the following dates:

  • Start Date: 05/14 06:00 PM (America/Los_Angeles)
  • End Date: 05/16 07:00 PM (America/Los_Angeles)

There’s currently no release date for the title, with Sega and Xbox saying sometime in 2021.
