Anime North Postponed Until 2022

By Josh PiedraFebruary 23, 2021

AnimeNorth has decided that due to the COVID-19 pandemic, that they are postponing their event until May 27-29, 2022. Below is the official statement from the convention on the matter:

Since the COVID-19 pandemic forced us to cancel Anime North in 2020, we have worked closely with safety experts and our venues, putting together an action plan for the Ontario government and moving our dates to later in the year in hope of being able to return in 2021. Sadly, it has become clear with the continuing spread of the virus, the emergence of new variants and the pace of vaccine distribution that trying to hold an in-person event of our size in a safe and responsible way is not possible at this time.

Bringing back Anime North is important to us, but the safety and security of everyone is much more important. Even though we all want things to get back to normal, the best choice for now is to postpone and wait for 2022.

All current admissions will be automatically rolled over. If you prefer a refund, please contact registration@animenorth.com.

You can still join us during our previously scheduled weekend of May 28-30, 2021 for Anime North: Stay at Home Edition and then get ready for the return of our in-person convention on our usual weekend May 27-29, 2022 when we will be celebrating the 25th Anniversary of the very first Anime North on Aug. 9, 1997.
