God of War Enhanced Mode Headed To The PS5 Tomorrow

Beauty and the Beast Mode!

Santa Monica Studio, the developer of the smash-hit God of War 2018, has announced that the PS5 patch will be released tomorrow, February 2nd, 2021.

While we’ve known about this patch for a while now, it’s nice to see that it will finally hit the PS5. This patch will offer a new graphics mode by combining both the graphical modes from the PlayStation 4 Pro. Once this patch hits, PS5 owners will have a new enhanced mode that provides 4K checkerboard resolution up to 60 frames per second.

Since then, our team has been working on a video graphics mode option that will enable players to get the most out of the increased performance capabilities of the PlayStation 5.
On the PlayStation 4 Pro version of God of War (2018), you have a choice between two graphics modes: one that favors performance and one that favors resolution.
Coming to you tomorrow on February 2nd, we will be releasing a free patch that replaces the current video graphics mode option with a new default setting that will offer the best of both performance and resolution to our PlayStation 5 players!

There will be an option to go back to the original resolution from the PS4 Pro if you choose. Yes, PS5 owners, this is finally coming and yet another reason to play through the game again. I know what I’ll be doing soon.

And think about this, this is an upgrade to what was originally a PlayStation 4 game. Just imagine what will happen with the upcoming God of War: Ragnarok.
