You can already purchase colorized PlayStation 5 faceplates

While the PlayStation 5 hasn’t been released yet, however, but that hasn’t stopped one company, PlateStation 5, from already selling customized PS5 faceplates.

As seen during the PlayStation 5 teardown, the faceplates for the console were shown to be easily removed and suddenly everyone started mentioning how cool it would be to make custom faceplates. This is where PlateStation 5 comes in, as the company is currently selling several colorized faceplates for the console.

Currently, they have five colorized faceplates that are available for purchase at $39.99. Colors include Cherry Red, Indigo Blue, Chromatic, Jungle Camo, and a Limited Edition V1 Matte Black, which based on the request for a black PlayStation 5, will be the favorite.

They’re taking orders now for both the standard and digital versions of the PS5, with the faceplates expected to ship right before or during the time of the launch of the PlayStation 5.

Just keep in mind that they’re not officially endorsed by Sony PlayStation, so they haven’t been provided official measurements and there might be some issues with the plates. They mention this as well on their website and also offer refunds if you aren’t happy with your purchase.

I’ve already ordered the matte black faceplates and I’ll let you know how it works out when both it and my PS5 arrive at my home.

That said, this is only the start. I’m sure there are other companies out there already doing the same thing or more. This is basically going to be a continuation of what we saw when it was possible to remove/replace the Xbox 360 faceplates. During that time we saw a ton of amazing looking faceplates and I expect to see that and more with the PS5.

We ain’t see anything yet.
