20XX will be free on the Epic Games Store next week, cross-play support being patched in

By Keith MitchellJuly 23, 2020
20XX

If you haven’t played the amazing 2D action platformer, 20XX, by now, you’re in luck as the title will be free next week on the Epic Game Store. While Next Up Hero and Tacoma are currently free to download, next week it will be all about 20XX.

Why should you play it? Well, if you like Mega Man X, a game that Capcom used to adore in the past but similar refuses to touch now. Then this is the next best thing. Lots of action, plenty of platforming, complete with procedural level generation, and some yummy co-op gameplay. There’ a reason that 20XX is a fan favorite. So trust me I say, you need to download this next week.

20XX will also support cross-play between the Steam and Epic Game Store versions of the game, thanks to an upcoming patch. No word on when that patch will be released, however, it is coming.

Seriously, if you don’t want to take my word on 20xx, then at least check out our review of the game. It’s from a passionate Mega Man fan who may have the largest Mega Man collection in the world. Play 20XX, then wait patiently (or not) for the upcoming sequel, 30XX.

20XX is currently available on Steam and the Epic Games Store, but don’t buy it today! Wait until next week!
