Persona 5 Scramble opening movie released, teases new character Zenkichi Hasegawa

Every so often, either getting up extremely early or not being able to sleep has its advantages. Take this Opening Movie for example. Recently released by Atlus, we’re getting an early look and I’m not really sure how I feel about this one. I mean, as far as Persona opening movies go, it’s definitely up there but it’s not topping my favorite to date.

That all aside, this new opening features a new song called “You Are Stronger”, lyrics provided by Lotus Juice. It also teases a new character which I don’t believe we’ve seen before (but I may be wrong here).

Doing some searching on the Megami Tensei Fandom site, it appears this character is called Zenkichi Hasegawa and appears to be a detective that’s investigating the Phantom Thieves. This description goes on to mention that “Zenkichi has long hair and a goatee. He wears a set of glasses and wears a suit with a tie.”. Yep, that matches up with everything I’ve seen so far, and despite the description, it looks that he’ll be helping our favorite thieves.

In case you missed it, Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers is a brand new story based in the Persona 5 universe and is the first action RPG for the series. It’s also the first time the Persona series will be released outside of the PlayStation. Developed by Omega Force (Dynasty Warriors/Musou), players will hack and slash their way through hordes of enemies to progress the story and should appeal to fans who want a bit more action in their Persona games.

Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers is set to be released for the PlayStation 4 and the Nintendo Switch in Japan on February 20, 2020. So far there hasn’t been any official announcement on when we can expect the game over in the West. However, I doubt Sega and Atlus would skip on bringing over this game. Especially that the Persona brand has been gaining more and more popularity in the West. Plus, the thought of playing a Musou game with Persona baked into it sounds yummy.

C’mon Sega/Atlus, we need that North American release date.
