Cuphead’s “The Delicious Last Course” Delayed Until 2020

In a recent update, Studio MDHR has announced that the upcoming Cuphead DLC, “The Delicious Last Course” is being delayed until 2020.

Originally slated for a late 2019 release on the Xbox One, PC and Switch. Studio MDHR has decided that they want to make the upcoming adventure as amazing and charming as it needs to be.  As such, they’ve delayed the update and will be giving it all the love and attention they feel it needs.

“While we initially announced a 2019 release date for the ‘Delicious Last Course’ expansion, our highest priority is making sure this new adventure meets the meticulous level of care and quality we always strive for. We want to be absolutely certain that this next adventure feels at home in the world of ‘Cuphead’ and is full of moments that surprise and delight players. Furthermore, the development of the original game taught us a great deal about the importance of making things in a way that’s healthy and sustainable for our team.

With that in mind, we’re taking a page out of Chef Saltbaker’s book, and spending the necessary time to get the recipe just right – this means that we’ll be moving the release of ‘The Delicious Last Course’ to 2020. This wasn’t an easy decision to make, but we’re confident it’s one that will result in a higher quality experience that’s all the sweeter when it does arrive.”

I’ve said it a thousand times and I’ll keep on saying it. I would much rather developers take as much time as they did to get it right the first time. As far as I’m concerned, Studio MDHR can take as long as they need. When Cuphead first released, it was a tough-as-nails but damned amazing adventure. I’m sure many of us are expecting the same from the DLC.

So, Studio MDHR, take as much time as you need. Please!

As for The Delicious Last Course, we really don’t much about the game outside of the inclusion of MS. Chalice. In Cuphead, she was an unplayable character known as “The Legendary Chalice”. A character that the protagonist had to same a number of times. However, in the upcoming DLC, she’ll get her time to shine as a playable character in both the DLC and the original game.

Also, did anyone notice that The Delicious Last Course = DLC? Consider my mind blown.
