Gamestop’s Database Lists A Ton of Unannounced Games Ahead of E3

It’s time to quell any fear that this year’s E3 will be a weak one; a ton of unknown games have popped up in Gamestop’s internal database, including dozens of unannounced PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch games.

Nintendo leaker Sabi posted images on Twitter revealing a huge amount of brand new SKU placeholders for Nintendo Switch, followed by more images revealing placeholders for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One titles. Now, placeholders don’t provide too much concrete information given that they’re for games we don’t even know exist yet, but they do give us one thing: a number.

More than 20 SKU placeholders are present for Nintendo Switch games, so now we can assume that there will be around 20 Nintendo Switch games revealed at E3. We can’t derive a completely accurate number given that there are sometimes multiple placeholders for one game, (special editions and collector’s editions count as separate entities), but we can get a pretty good estimate of what to expect. Most of the titles are priced at the standard $60, but one is priced at $40, another at $50, and another at $90. There’s even an SKU priced at $200, which is more than likely a collector’s edition of some sort. The PlayStation 4 and Xbox One listings are a bit harder to make out than the Switch placeholders, but there are still a bunch of them.

As far as what these placeholders could end up being, it’s anyone’s guess. Going off of leaked information, rumors, and pre-E3 confirmations, it’s safe to assume what some of these games are. Marvel’s Avengers is most likely one of these, and it’s likely that we’ll see Halo Infinite and the new Darksiders going up for pre-order very soon after E3. What’s interesting is one of the Nintendo Switch titles actually has a date: October 18, 2019. Being priced at $40, this might end up being a port of the Spyro Reignited Trilogy that has been heavily rumored over the past year. Crash eventually found his way to Switch, and it’s a safe bet to assume that Spyro will too, especially with the recent news that the trilogy will be ported to PC.

Of course, we can’t know anything for sure until E3, which kicks off this Saturday, June 8, with EA Play 2019.
