Google To Confirm Stadia Pricing, Launch Titles And More This Summer 2019

While Google previously mentioned that we wouldn’t hear anything regarding their upcoming streaming platform, Stadia, until Summer 2019.

They tweeted, I suppose you can call it a tease. Earlier today, they stated that “This summer, three of the wishes you’ve been asking for finally be granted”. Those wishes being the price, what games are going to be announced with the platform and of course, launch information. Though, let me be the first that I really hate the idea of “Announcing an announcement”. Just give us the goods already, stop with the teasing.

While is not really new, as we had already assumed we’d find out more during E3 2019. Which happens to take place during Summer 2019 and also happens to be a few weeks away (June 9th, 2019). As for those three wishes, honestly, the price isn’t really on my mind. Mainly due to if the games that I want to see aren’t there, then the price means nothing. That said, we already know that DOOM Eternal and Assassin’s Creed Odyssey are coming to Stadia. One is completely new, while the other has already been played on several platforms. And between you and me, they really need to show of something to compete with Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo. Not just names, we need to see those games in action.

The launch information is also something I’m curious about. Mainly when can we expect to see it launched, and what other goodies/features are we going to see or hear about that was already announced. Are we also going to see Stadia built-in to TVs from the big players such as Samsung, LG, TCL. Which would help push Stadia for those who aren’t really gamers but want to see what the fuss is. What manufacturers are going to team up with Google, to help push their gaming vision? That’s got to be something Google talks about during their big info dump.

Yep, this Summer 2019 is going to be interesting. Not only for Stadia but also due to Microsoft seemingly matching Google’s steps. Expect to hear more than you want to hear regarding streaming games via the cloud. The future is here, strap yourself in because it’s going to be a very bumpy ride.
