Hunter x Hunter: The Last Mission to Release on March 12

By Josh PiedraMarch 13, 2019

VIZ Media has announced the home media release of the Hunter x Hunter: The Last Mission anime movie! The movie will make its way on Blu-ray and DVD on March 12! VIZ Media passed along the following statement regarding the film’s home release:

The HUNTER X HUNTER: THE LAST MISSION was produced by the famed MADHOUSE animation studio and was directed by Keiichiro Kawaguchi. The feature film will be available as a Blu-ray/DVD Combo Pack (MSRP: $29.98 U.S. / $34.99 CAN) and as a Standard Edition DVD (MSRP: $19.98 U.S. / $24.99 CAN). English dubbed and Japanese subtitled dialogue options are included on both formats.

In HUNTER X HUNTER: THE LAST MISSION, the Battle Olympia tournament at Heaven’s Arena is about to begin! Gon, Killua, Kurapika and Leorio plan on watching the matches along with the other Hunters and VIPs in attendance. As they wait, a raid by The Shadow ends the festivities. Skilled fighters fall one by one to their terrifying ability called On, a dark power derived from malice. When their leader Jed captures Netero and declares death to all Hunters in the name of vengeance, Gon and Killua rush to defeat him!

“HUNTER X HUNTER: THE LAST MISSION thrilled audiences earlier this year during its limited U.S. theatrical release,” says Brian Ige, Vice President, Animation. “We’re excited to offer the home media release to HUNTER X HUNTER fans and those who missed out on its run in theaters.”

Exclusive bonus features for the Blu-ray/DVD Combo Pack include interviews with English voice cast members Erica Mendez (as Gon), Cristina Vee (as Killua), Matt Mercer (as Leorio), Keith Silverman (as Hisoka), and Kira Buckland (as Zushi). Both the Combo Pack and Standard Edition include interviews with the original Japanese voice cast.

The HUNTER X HUNTER anime series reboots the popular HUNTER X HUNTER manga created by Yoshihiro Togashi (published by VIZ Media and rated ‘T+’ for Older Teens). The anime adventure was produced by the famed animation studio, MADHOUSE, and has been seen widely in North America on Adult Swim’s Toonami. VIZ Media is the official North American distributor of the HUNTER X HUNTER anime series and holds the broadcast rights, digital streaming rights, home video rights and merchandising rights to the series.
