The Cine-Analyst: Season 2, Episode 6: The Witch

By Sara Roncero-MenendezSeptember 28, 2018

Witches were persecuted for centuries, all based on superstition, paranoia, revenge, and greed. And so when a Puritan family is exiled to live in the woods, it’s understandable they’d start pointing fingers when things go awry. But what else lurks in the more dangerous terrain of all: their minds?

Guilt, lust, pride, greed, grief and sloth all come into play as five characters enter the new world, and only one leaves.

Tune in next time when I breakdown fictional characters and talk about what’s going on inside that brain of theirs. What makes us so scared of what goes bump in the night? Find out on this season of The Cine-Analyst!

A reporter by trade, Sara is a lover of horror, sci-fi, and all things pop culture. From indies to classics to even the strangest schlock, all movies and TV shows are fair game. She believes Batman is the most fascinating superhero, and that Silent Hill is one of the best horror franchises ever made (as long as you don't count the movies). Fun Fact: The only movie Sara will not rewatch is The Room -- once was more than enough.
