Has ABC Canceled ‘Marvel’s Inhumans’ TV Series?

By Keith MitchellJanuary 22, 2018
ABC and Marvel's Inhumans

Good riddance to a bad show

ABC and Marvel's Inhumans

Ok, let’s get one thing out of the way. I’m a huge fan of Marvel Comics. Despite their numerous (silly) decisions, I like their content. What I didn’t like was their entire initiative to remove any mention of Mutants from their comics or shows. The entire MCU is devoid of them (but for how long?) and honestly, I felt like Marvel was acting similar to a child who couldn’t have their way. ABC’s Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D and Inhumans are clear examples. Seeya Mutants, hello Inhumans. There’s just one thing: it didn’t work.

And we may finally have proof of that, as it seems that ABC and Marvel have canceled the disastrous TV series. Albeit very quietly at that.

Yep, canceled, or at the very least seems to be on life-support. SpoilerTV.com is reporting that ABC has removed any mention of the Marvel’s Inhumans TV show from their press website.  That link is disneyabcpress.com/abc/shows/marvelsinhumans, which gives a 404 error upon clicking on it. So, sure, it could be an error. Right? Well, I decided to look a bit further into this. Going back in time, I found a cached page that you can access here. This cached section is from September 2017. Going further than that will also return the 404 error. Meaning that all access to the Inhumans show was pulled from the website.

Now, it could be an error. ABC or whoever does their website stuff could have mangled the URL. It’s completely in the realm of possibilities. But I’m sure if that was the case, that it would have been corrected by now. So, could this be on purpose? My money is on yes. But why?

let’s be honest with each other. The Inhuman’s show was not very good. The ratings were bad, no one even wanted the show. And when compared to  Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D , it wasn’t even a contest. This goes to show how bad Marvel’s insight was. The Inhumans hasn’t been relevant for who knows how long. The comic books aren’t exactly the best selling comics from Marvel. The characters aren’t memorable and if ask anyone who they are, you might be waiting a while for an answer. The Inhumans was just Marvel’s attempted stab at replacing their popular and widely known Mutants and it failed. But now that Marvel has the X-Men (and Fantastic Four) license back, were the Inhumans even needed?

Nope. I don’t think so. And this could very well be a clear indication that ABC and Marvel have wised up. Out with the Inhumans and now time to figure out how to incorporate the sorely missed X-Men/Mutant population into their TV and films MCU. I can’t wait to see how this all pans out.

Or, you know, it simply all could be one big mistake. I guess we’ll wait and see how long it will take until we get some official confirmation.
