SDCC 2017 – Brainiac, Doomsday to Appear in SYFY’s Krypton Series; Trailer Unveiled

By Clinton Bowman-ChristieJuly 22, 2017

What do we really know about the lineage of Kal-El, the legendary Man of Steel? On Wednesday evening, during San Diego Comic-Con Preview Night, Warner Bros. Television showed off a trailer of their upcoming series on SYFY, Krypton.

Set two generations before the destruction of the legendary Man of Steel’s home planet, Krypton follows Superman’s grandfather (Cameron Cuffe, The Halcyon) — whose House of El was ostracized and shamed — as he fights to redeem his family’s honor and save his beloved world from chaos. Krypton premieres in 2018 on SYFY.

At the Krypton panel on Saturday, it was announced that Brainiac and Doomsday will be involved in Krypton‘s story, with the former being heavily involved a conspiracy to prevent the birth of Superman, according to DC Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns. Johns also stated that other DC characters including Black Mercy will appear in the series.
