Ubisoft Delays The Division 2’s Story DLC Again

By Keith MitchellJanuary 28, 2025
The Divison 2_Y6_Roadmap

Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment have promised ongoing support for The Division 2, even as development on The Division 3 is underway. However, it seems the upcoming story DLC has hit another snag. Ubisoft recently confirmed that the DLC has been delayed once again and will not be released as part of the Year 6 content plan.

This marks the second delay for this specific DLC, with no new estimated release date provided. Originally slated as part of The Division 2 Year 5 roadmap was first postponed due to Ubisoft introducing Project Resolve for The Division 2 This initiative aimed to address bugs, improve PvE and PvP balance, and make the game more enjoyable overall. While this focus on refinement was appreciated, it pushed the DLC’s release back. Now, just as fans were expecting it, Ubisoft has announced another delay.

Here’s Ubisoft’s official statement regarding the delay:

Greetings, Agents,

Our team is dedicated to continuing to build the future of The Division 2. We have exciting updates in store, including a new season we can’t wait for you to start playing on February 25th.

We know you are eagerly awaiting the release of the upcoming DLC. To ensure we deliver the best possible experience, we’ve decided to take a little extra time to refine it. Therefore, the DLC will not ship during Year 6.

Thank you for your patience and support. Stay tuned—more updates are headed your way soon!

Ubisoft Delays The Division 2 DLC

As someone who recently returned to The Division 2 after a long break, I was really looking forward to this DLC. Hopefully, the additional time Ubisoft is taking will result in a polished, worthwhile experience.

Unfortunately, this isn’t Ubisoft’s only delay. The publisher also announced that Assassin’s Creed Shadows has been pushed back to March 20, 2025. Considering the busy release schedule for March, this delay might not have been the best timing.

Here’s to hoping Ubisoft delivers on its promises for The Division 2 and avoids further delay.
