Capcom Addresses the Lack of Street Fighter 6 Costumes

By Kevin KellyFebruary 1, 2025
Street Fighter 6

The Street Fighter community at large has been making several remarks about the alleged lack of Street Fighter 6 costumes. Personally, I’m pretty happy about some of those right about now, but that doesn’t seem to be the case for others about what’s left. Not wanting to be a one-sided conversation, Capcom responded to the accusations head-on, reassuring fans that they were listening. Frasier Crane be damned.

According to Capcom, there will be changes to how Year 3 will go in terms of the Fighting Pass as well as the costumes themselves, including some increases. They released a full statement explaining the “why” with updates. The stress definitely feels as though it’s upon the timing.

Thank you very much for all the support and playing Street Fighter 6. The team is working hard on delivering new experiences, and we would like to inform you about some upcoming content plans.

We’ve seen the requests from the community and would like to share that we’ve been working on new Fighting Ground character outfits since last year. However, please note it’s difficult for us to release every character outfit all at once due to the amount of time it takes to develop them. We plan to begin releasing them gradually starting this summer.

Regarding future Fighting Passes, we have been reassessing their contents and the frequency of their release, and will be making changes starting in Year 3 – with the goal of increasing the amount of items within each Fighting Pass that can be used in Fighting Ground.

Rest assured, we will continue to put our best efforts into ongoing development and service operations for Street Fighter 6. Thank you so much for your continued support!

Sincerely,
The Street Fighter 6 Development Team

Street Fighter VI statement

With Elena and Mai coming out in the next few months, and Year 3 to be revealed, it feels as though Capcom might have some time to heat things up. It shows that the company is trying its’ best to figure out what was the best course of action. Street Fighter V’s approach did leave a bit to be desired by slightly favoring characters over others.

Street Fighter 6 is playable on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam).
