Sonic the Hedgehog 4 Release Date Announced

Wow, that's a fast turnaround!
By Todd BlackJanuary 21, 2025
Sonic The Hedgehog 4

There’s little doubt that the Sonic 3 film was a huge hit. It’s crossed over $420 million at the global box office, is in the upper tier of the highest-grossing video game movies ever, it’s just gotten on digital (which will increase its success) and, of course, the 4th movie has already been greenlit. The question is when we’ll actually get to watch Sonic The Hedgehog 4 in theaters. Just before the third film dropped, Paramount noted it would drop in 2027. Now, they’ve refined that window a bit and revealed the movie will be released on March 19th!

At first, that might seem blazing fast (no pun intended), but you need to remember a few things. First, the movie was approved before the third one was released. Second, Jeff Fowler is clearly the genius behind everything, and he’s not going anywhere just yet. Thus, between him and the voice actors, they already had everything ready to, at the very least, work out the script and the blocking of the next movie. Once that’s all done, filming doesn’t really take that long for these films. When you add that all up? The movie coming out in March 2027 feels right.

As for the plot of Sonic The Hedgehog 4, we know it’ll feature Amy Rose and Metal Sonic, but beyond that…it’s a mystery. Even Jeff Fowler has admitted that they’re still working things out with their roles and how they’ll be featured in the movie. Even still, this team knows what it’s doing, and that’s something to be happy about.

Oh, and for you Silver The Hedgehog fans? Yeah, Fowler knows you want him in the franchise sooner rather than later…

Jeff Fowler is considering Silver to appear in future movies. Maybe, if he appear one day, we might see him use Meteor Smash in a scene similar to that scrapped concept art? They probably want to save these scrapped ideas like that concept art for future movies?#SonicMovie3 pic.twitter.com/x1usTkHAwk
