Is Xenoblade Chronicles X 2 Being Teased By An Insider?

...it's nice to dream sometimes...
By Todd BlackJanuary 3, 2025
Xenoblade Chronicles X Definitive Edition, Monolith Soft

There are certain members of us here at The Outerhaven who are truly pumped for the arrival of Xenoblade Chronicles X Definitive Edition. In fact, on the newest episode of the Nintendo Entertainment Podcast, we discussed how it was the literal “last great Wii U game” to be ported to the Switch. Thus, the “circle is complete,” if you will. Regardless, many are happy about it, but there are also those who wonder what the “additional story content” will be like in the game and what it might tease for the future. To that end, a certain “insider” claims that something big could be on the horizon on this front.

In a post on Twitter, Nash Weedle posted the franchise timeline and implied that a sequel to Xenoblade Chronicles X could be in line in the future:

2010
Wii: Xenoblade Chronicles

2015
New 3DS: Xenoblade Chronicles 3D
Wii U: Xenoblade Chronicles X

2017
Switch: Xenoblade Chronicles 2

2020
Switch: Xenoblade Chronicles DE

2022
Switch: Xenoblade Chronicles 3

2025
Switch: Xenoblade Chronicle X DE

Obviously, this could just be wishful thinking. And yet, he’s made such predictions before (as the quoted tweet shows) and been right. The original game ended on a cliffhanger, so unless the “added story” wraps it up, there is still a need for a continuation. We’ll just have to see how it goes.
