Where to use the Horn of Vastiri in Path of Exile 2

By Keith MitchellDecember 12, 2024

In Path of Exile 2 Act 2, you’ll eventually be tasked with assembling the Horn of Vastiri. To do so, you’ll need to gather multiple pieces, which involves visiting several locations, defeating bosses, and ultimately combining the components. Once assembled, the horn must be used to clear the sand barrier that previously blocked your path.

However, this step isn’t entirely intuitive and can be confusing for some players, myself included.

How to Use the Horn of Vastiri in Path of Exile 2

Once you’ve assembled the Horn of Vastiri, you’ll need to sound it to progress further. At first, you might think you need to head back to the Halani Gates and run to the Sand Barrier to use it. But that’s not correct.

Instead, you’ll need to return to the Traitor’s Passage, which will now have a quest icon marking the location.

Once there, head back to the Caravan and move to its front, past the Desert Map. You’ll notice the option to “Sound the Horn.” Activating it will trigger a sequence where the sand barrier is dispelled. Afterward, you’ll be directed to speak with Sekhema Asala, who will send you to Deshar—your final destination on this map.

Preparing for Deshar

Be prepared for Deshar, as it can be challenging if you’re under-leveled or poorly equipped.

Before leaving, consider speaking to Shambrin near the Salvage Bench. She has a quest involving someone special to her who disappeared in Deshar.

Once you tackle and defeat Deshar, you’ll be ready to continue with your quest to find the beast and onward to Act 3.

Good Luck!
