Action RPG Lost Soul Aside Finally Gets a Release Date, Will Release on PS5 and PC

Lost Soul Aside, after years of anticipation, finally has a release window. It will launch simultaneously on PlayStation 5 and, for the first time, on PC via Steam. PlayStation recently unveiled a new trailer for this highly anticipated action RPG, showcasing gameplay reminiscent of Devil May Cry and NieR.

What makes Lost Soul Aside truly fascinating is its origin story. The game began as a one-man project by Yang Bing, whose passion and dedication turned heads when it was first revealed. Over time, the project grew, leading Yang to establish his studio, UltiZero Games, to help bring his vision to life. When I first saw the game, I was amazed that such an ambitious project came from a single creator.

Originally announced in 2017, Lost Soul Aside was initially being developed for PlayStation 4. Since then, the project has evolved, with development shifting to the PlayStation 5 and, as we now know, PC.

For me, this was the first Chinese-developed game I had ever heard of, even before the reveal of Black Myth: Wukong. Lost Soul Aside is part of PlayStation’s China Hero Project, an initiative that has highlighted some incredible talent. Could this be the next breakout hit from China? Only time will tell.

As a side note, like other PlayStation games launching on PC, a PlayStation Network account will be required. This has essentially become standard practice for PlayStation’s PC releases.
