America is Leading the Anime Piracy War According to Google

Google’s Copyright Rankings show that U.S.-based companies generate their top 5 copyright infringement takedown reports.

Its latest figures indicate that Google has received a combined 10,199,908,138 URL takedown requests for deletion by 629,353 organizations. Anime and manga companies were well-represented  in those companies by occupying the Top 5 spots!

Those spots are as follows:

  1. VIZ Media LLC (49k, 305.2 million)
  2. Toei Animation (61k, 80.6 million)
  3. Japan Creative Contents Alliance LLC (32.0k, 48.1 million)
  4. FUNimation Entertainment (Sony) (29.5k, 36.7 million)
  5. Aniplex of America Inc. (18.3k, 9.8 million)

Other contributed companies include Tapppytoon, Boomtoon, WEBTOON Entertainment, NAVER WEBTOON, Toomics, and Toyou’s Dream.
