Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics and Capcom Fighting Collection 2 Headed to Xbox

By Kevin KellySeptember 3, 2024

It seems as though both Marvel vs Capcom Fighting Collection and Capcom Fighting Collection 2 will be headed to the Xbox ecosystem. Both games were not going to be appearing during the launch, but it seems as though Capcom and Microsoft have sorted out the technical details around both titles to make it happen.  Capcom’s Street Fighter and Marvel vs Capcom Twitter account recently announced the news.

While Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics will be released much later, in 2025. The Capcom Fighting Collection 2, however, may be able to meet with the other ecosystems’ dates on release.

We're excited to announce that after technical discussions with our partners at Microsoft, we can confirm that MARVEL vs. CAPCOM Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics will release on Xbox One! 🎉

As to what they could have been is up to speculation. Some of the causes were rumors of the MT Framework being a difficult task to support on Xbox.

Both collections have several spectacular feats on either end. For instance, the first console release of most of the Marvel vs Capcom series in its’ entirety at as accurate as their arcade ports with online play. No frames missing in animations nor tag limitations on the first 2 tag fighting games for their release similar to thier 32-bit runs. This is also Power Stone‘s first appearance on consoles since the PSP collection release back in 2006. Both collection announcements were met with excitement from the fans. It’s to note that both Marvel vs Capcom 2 and Capcom vs SNK 2 are considered two of the best fighting games of all time.

Both Capcom Fighting Collection 2 and Marvel vs Capcom Fighting Collection will be available later in 2025 on Xbox.
