Football Manager 25 Release Date Announced, Launching In November

By Jordan AndowSeptember 30, 2024
Football Manager 25 announcement

After development challenges that came with porting to a new game engine caused Football Manager 25 (FM25) to be delayed, SEGA and developer Sports Interactive have finally announced the release date and pre-order details for Football Manager 25 (previously referred to as Football Manager 2025).

Football Manager 25, will launch globally from 26th November 2024. Fresh off a record-breaking year for the franchise last year with more than 14 million players across platforms, the latest release in Sports Interactive’s and SEGA’s iconic series puts players at the heart of a deep, authentic football universe where only they define their destiny.

Powered by the switch to the Unity engine, FM25 marks the biggest technical and visual advancement for the series in a generation.

If you haven’t been keeping up with FM25 news, it is worth noting that this year Women’s Football is making its debut in Football Manager. While I am personally a bigger fan of the Men’s game I certainly appreciate the option to take on a new and different challenge with a Women’s team.
Another big thing for this year is Sports Interactive’s multi-year deal with the Premier League which for the first time ever will bring officially licensed kits and player portraits to the franchise.
With Today’s announcement of the release date, Sports Interactive Studio Director Miles Jacobson said the following.

“It’s a great honour today to be confirming the forthcoming release of Football Manager 25.

“As I’ve mentioned in interviews and development updates, the FM25 cycle has been challenging for the entire SI team.

“FM25 is just the starting point for the studio’s next 20, 30 years. It’s also the point where the world gets to see two of our multi-year projects come to fruition: the switch to the Unity engine and the introduction of Women’s Football. It gives us a real sense of achievement to begin sharing our hard work with you and we’re really looking forward to showing you more of the game in the weeks before the game’s release.”

Alongside the release for PC & Mac, Football Manager 25 Console on Xbox and PlayStation 5 are scheduled to arrive 26 November. FM25 Console (Xbox) and FM25 (PC/Mac) will once again also be available via Xbox Game Pass.

The studio will once again be releasing on Nintendo Switch, with Football Manager 25 Touch planned to launch on 3 December. Further information on the release of FM25 Touch will follow in the coming weeks.

Retaining a classic feel with a host of new additions, Football Manager 25 Mobile is scheduled to launch as a Netflix exclusive on 26 November. Players will benefit from the introduction of Women’s Football and the new Premier League license, as well as the ability to carry over their game save files from FM24 Mobile, although FM25 Mobile has not made the switch to Unity.

From now until launch, fans who pre-purchase FM25 (for PC and Mac) from a SEGA-approved digital retailer will receive a 10% discount.

Pre-orders for FM25 Console (Xbox/PS5) will launch at a later date.

Jordan has been playing games since the age of six. This ignited a passion which initially led him towards game development before trying his hand in the realm of games media, starting in 2022. It turns out he's quite good at it, even if he doesn't always believe in himself. Now, just a few short years later, not only is Jordan a valued member of our staff here at The Outerhaven, but he also co-owns and helps to run Analog Stick Gaming.
