Crunchyroll has announced that they have decided to disable comments on their website. The reasoning behind this action was that they aimed to protect their community and to create a safe and respectful environment.
It is no secret that any website with a comments section (including ours) is an invitation for hostility and negativity. The anonymous nature of the internet can (and has) bring out the worst in people since there is very little to be said for reciprocation. What most sites are finding is that removing their comments section enhances the user experience.
They did state that the user rating system will remain intact.
