Mortal Kombat 1: Homelander Gameplay Trailer Revealed

By Kevin KellyMay 30, 2024

The Boys‘ Homelander is coming to Mortal Kombat 1, and his gameplay trailer has arrived. As shown in this gameplay trailer, he has a score to settle with Fire Lord Liu Kang and other Kombatants. The supers seem to dominate the guest appearances. Surprisingly  Homelander’s Anthony Starr will not be voicing his character yet the likeness is definitely to his version of the character similiar to Peacemaker and Omni-Man getting their looks from their shows.

Homelander’s flight ability allows quick movement across the screen, which, if used correctly, leads to powerful air combo strings. He has a bit of a Cyclops-style eye laser with crouching and diagonal lasers. Downward and upward laser eye attacks are in his kit. The kneeling laser can avoid high projectiles such as Sub-Zero’s freeze attack. This sets up Homelander to be a dangerous zoner thanks to his versatile laser tools.

Mortal Kombat 1 Ferra Has No Torr

Ferra’s back from Mortal Kombat X, yet her tactics haven’t changed too much as a Kameo. Instead of Torr linking up, the player is now Torr for Ferra, creating a puppet out of the player. Ferra can control movement for a bit, which could slow down characters before she can get thrown into the opponent. Ferra has a bit of a cheer thing she can do as a Kameo character. It’s screaming 90s King of Fighters as she’s doing it in the background. This could be a buff for the fighter she’s helping.

Homelander will be available, from the Kombat Pack, on June 4th for early access. Just in time for the new season of The Boys on June 13th. Takeda will be the last one in the Season 1 DLC. Season 2 DLC has yet to be revealed. Omni-Man, Quan-Chi, and Ermac, are also on Season 1.

Mortal Kombat 1 is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam).
