Fire Emblem Has A Big Fan Via Nintendo’s President!

High Praise From A High Position!

The video game industry never ceases to amaze me with what people say, do, or like. The fun part is seeing what some of the “higher-ups” in the industry like when it comes to video games they play. Some of the more famous faces have tastes that you might not expect. Case in point, Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa. He’s never truly expressed what franchises he likes, but on an episode of the Kit & Krysta podcast, Krysta revealed he’s rather fond of Fire Emblem!

How would she know this? When he was appointed President, he went to Nintendo of America, where she worked at the time, and she recalled meeting him and talking with him about games:

At the time he was telling us like, how he was a huge Fire Emblem fan and he was like playing Fire Emblem and he was like “I’m a huge fan, I’ve been playing Fire Emblem, but then I got to the end of Fire Emblem and I was like, the credits were rolling, and it got to the very end and it was like, Executive Producer: Furukawa” like him, right, and he was like “that was a hard cold reality that I had to get back to work”.

So, yeah, that’s pretty cool! I’m a big fan of Fire Emblem myself, and I look forward to seeing what Furukawa and Nintendo does with the series going forward!
