Pokemon GO Is Getting Some Upgrades For Fans To “Rediscover” It

By Todd BlackApril 15, 2024
Pokemon Go, Pokemon Sleep

It’s honestly hilarious how far things have come since Pokemon GO first launched in 2016. It was a massive success during its opening few years, and then when the pandemic hit, it was an easy and fun way to go outside and walk around so you weren’t cooped up all day. However, as with all games, things have lessened with it over the years, though the mobile Pokemon title is a big hit still, to be clear. That being said, developer Niantic wants to keep things hot by doing the “Rediscover GO” campaign.

What is this? Well, it’s Niantic’s attempt to upgrade the game and give Pokemon GO new life to those who might have “gotten off the wagon” over the years for one reason or another. Here is what Niantic had to say about the new campaign:

Trainers will see updates to the user experience and visual art, including the in-game map, encounter screens, battle screens, and more – all tailored and changing based on location. From lush forests to bustling cities, tropical beaches to rugged mountains, Trainers will now be able to immerse themselves in the diverse landscapes within Pokémon GO, uncovering unexpected Pokémon on their journeys through the biomes.

Avatar options and the Style Shop will also present new customization options, so Trainers can express themselves in new, meaningful ways. Finally, Trainers who love to snap photos with GO Snapshot can now include up to three Pokémon in a single photo for the perfect group shot.

They even dedicated a special part of their website so that fans can ensure they know what updates are up and what others are coming. They even made a trailer for the campaign, which you can view below:
