Moon Studios Does Have An Idea For Ori 3, But It’s Not In The Works Right Now

Ori 3, Ori and the Blind Forest

While the gaming industry is still trying to “figure out” what works and what doesn’t (even though it should be VERY obvious at this point,) sometimes a studio comes along and changes everything for the better. For example, Moon Studios shocked and amazed everyone with their quality titles, Ori and the Blind Forest and the sequel, Ori and the Will of the Wisps. These games blended unique visuals, a gripping story, and creative gameplay to give players something they wouldn’t forget. Oh, and they didn’t! That’s why many want Ori 3 to happen!

In a chat with Game Informer, CEO and creative director Thomas Mahler discussed the option of a third title and admitted that it might happen, but right now, they’re focused on their upcoming game, “No Rest For The Wicked.” But even with that “roadblock,” an idea is out there to flesh out:

“I have a title for it already. I have some ideas, but so far, right now, we are completely focused on No Rest for the Wicked for the time being.”

And while the “idea” of a third game is “out there,” it’s also possible that we have seen the end of Ori’s story as a whole, and thus, there’s no need for an Ori 3. This comes from Gennadiy Korol, Moon Studios’ other co-founder, who noted in that same interview:

“I think were were pretty happy with where it left off. I think we were able to complete the story of Ori. It’s a complete arc now; if you play both games, it’s a complete story. So it felt like the only way we would come back to Ori 3 is if we have more to say, more story to tell.”

Never say never, right?
