The Penguin Spinoff Gets New Teaser Trailer

By Todd BlackMarch 22, 2024
The Penguin

Being blunt, The Batman universe is an anomaly that no one has quite figured out yet. The newest reboot movie came out over two years ago (and was supposed to be released in 2021 before the pandemic happened) and its success was meant to inspire multiple kinds of spinoffs and other movies. However, fast forward to 2024, and the sequel film is part of the “Elseworlds” side of the soon-to-be-birthed DCU, and it’s now been postponed to 2026. Meanwhile, the first true spinoff, The Penguin, is finally set to arrive this fall.

To that end, a new teaser trailer has come. In it, we see The Penguin outlining the kind of mob boss he wants to be. One that is “loved” by the people despite the fact he’s a villain. We get teases of the other characters we’ll meet in his quest for power, and it makes one wonder what will happen when things go down later this year.
